Swati Bhise, President and Director of Performing Arts, is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer who has performed throughout India, Europe and the United States. She has performed at institutions such as the National Center for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, the Sahitya Kala Parishad and Bharatiya Kala Kendra in New Delhi, the United Nations General Assembly in New York and the Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Swati is an avid teacher and has conducted workshops at leading institutions including Columbia University, New York University, the education department at the American Museum of Natural History, New York and the Lincoln Center Institute where she is a repertory artist. Since 1997, Swati has presented Bharatanatyam to students at schools in the Bronx, Queens and Manhattan in conjunction with Symphony Space's CAP program. She was recently selected as the New York correspondent for Sruti, the leading dance magazine in India, based in Chennai. As Director of Performing Arts of the institute, Swati will be responsible for curriculum design and development of the core program and community offerings.

A trained lawyer who worked for The Supreme Court of India and Citibank, Bunty has been in publishing and media for various magazines such as India Today and The Statesman Newspaper. She has been very actively involved in the promotion of arts and culture in the New York tri-state area. She has raised funds for several non-profits, including Safe Space. She also runs her own non-profit, Festivals India.
